about taxi cosmetics
Taxi London Ltd is an independent UK brand created in 2004 by husband & wife team Pete Kelly & Jane Williamson.
We had a clear vision of what we wanted to create, a British beauty brand levering it’s identity on the unsurpassed history and trends of the talented and enviable London fashion scene.
Why Taxi? Great question and one we love to answer. Taxi is a globally recognised word, it also connects with our unique selling point and philosophy of ‘make-up on the move’. Taxi London’s product range is both portable and functional. Evidence of this can be seen in the ‘passengers’ range which inter-connects allowing you to create your own customised ‘duo’. Whilst the City Lights Plump and Lipgloss have a built in super bright LED light and mirror for ‘am to pm application’. The components in the taxipure™ Mineral range have all been chosen to limit the ‘mess’ Minerals are sometimes renowned for.
British women are adept at beauty on the move; slicking on lipgloss while striding down the street, touching up mascara on the bus or puckering up for lipstick while reading on the tube. All our shades are named after the city’s famous landmarks. From Tooting to Temple, Putney to Primrose Hill. London now has a new beauty map.
Taxi was short listed for the 2006 Pure Beauty Awards in the ‘Best New Design and Packaging’ category for it’s unique and innovative ‘passengers’ range. In the autumn of 2006, we supplied product to Channel 5’s ‘Make me a Supermodel’ show.
2007 saw Taxi London nominated again for the Pure Beauty Awards, we were highly commended this time for our City Lights packaging, getting closer to a first position!
2008 Taxi London products were used on the TV show ‘Gok Wan’s fashion fix’ and ‘Strictly come dancing’. We also successfully launched our men’s range this year with ‘guyliner’ and ‘Manscara’ these were featured in the press and magazines such as Grazia, Heat and Arena. Taxi London taking the capital by storm.
This year has also seen the launch of the fabulous Taxipure™ Mineral Make-up.
